Dr.Tom Allumbaugh, his wife Karin and their two boys have lived in Central Oregon since 2007. Dr. Allumbaugh did his undergraduate work at UC San Diego and did a tour of West Africa with the Peace Corp. He went to medical school at UC Davis and did his residency in family medicine in Merced, CA. Prior to moving to Redmond, Dr. Allumbaugh worked for five years in Reedsport on the Oregon coast. When not working with his patients, he enjoys raising his boys, making his wife laugh and operates a small farm outside of Redmond.

James K. Detwiler MD.

Dr. Detwiler completed his residency at the University of Kentucky. He was a flight surgeon (Aviation Medical Officer) in the US Navy at Fallon Naval Airstation in Nevada.
Dr. Detwiler enjoys flying, sailing and biking with his wife Annette and his four grown children.
Dr. Detwiler is a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner and practices family medicine and provides FAA physicals at Cascade Medical Clinic.
Dr. William C. Claridge

Dr. Claridge was born and raised in Portland, OR. He graduated from UC at Santa Barbara in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. After serving in the US Army in Vietnam, he returned to Portland to attend OHSU, graduating as a medical doctor in 1976. Dr. Claridge entered a Family Practice residency in Modesto CA, receiving his Family Practice Board certification in 1979.
Dr. Claridge is married with three children and five grandchildren. He has lived and worked in Redmond since 1979 and, although he is no longer practicing obstetrics, has delivered over 500 babies in his career! When not practicing medicine at Cascade Medical Clinic, Dr. Claridge enjoys bicycling, operating his Ham radio, travel, and learning foreign languages.

Dr. T. Neil Ernst MD

Dr. Neil Ernst received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley. He attended medical school at UC Davis and completed his pediatric training at the University of Utah. For 22 years after residency Dr. Ernst worked as a pediatrician and taught pediatrics to Family Practice residents in Merced, CA. In 2002 he moved to Central Oregon to begin work at Cascade Medical Clinic. Dr. Ernst is married to Peggy Philp and enjoys riding his bike to work from his home in south west Redmond. Dr. Ernst placed third in his age group at the March 13 Grin and Bear It 10K run!

Pamela J. Irby MD.

Dr. Pam Irby is a family physician who has enriched her practice in two areas of special interest; sports medicine and routine obstetrics. Dr. Irby completed a fellowship in sports medicine before coming to Redmond. A member of the U.S. Women's Rugby Team that won a silver medal in 1996 and 1998, Dr. Irby has more than an academic interest in working with athletes. Similarly, her training in routine obstetrics is combined with the experience of being a mother herself!
Dr. Irby did her first residency in Family Practice at Merced Community Medical Center. Her second residency in sports medicine was done at Columbia/San Jose Medical Center. A key part of her approach with athletes is to keep them active during the post-injury period of rehabilitation.
Dr. Irby delivers babies at St. Charles Medical Center, Redmond. With their well trained nursing staff, baby-friendly program and availablility of sophisticated and safe pain relief options, she belives that St. Charles Redmond represents the optimal combination of mother-centered care with the best birth experience current medical technology can offer.

Joe T. McCook

Dr. McCook moved to Redmond in 2006 to join CMC as a family practice and obstetric physician. He enjoys all aspects of family medicine, especially getting to know his patients and their families.
When he is not in the office, Dr. McCook, his wife and three young daughters enjoy hiking and downhill skiing.

Daniel J. Murphy, MD

Dr. Dan Murphy graduated from Georgetown University Medical School in 1981. Following completion of a Family Practice Residency program with UC Davis, he worked for three years on the Morongo Indian Reservation in Southern California. Dr. Murphy taught family medicine in a residency program for eight years in Merced CA and moved to Redmond in 1995 to join Cascade Medical Clinic. Dr. Murphy's greatest pleasures are the company of his wife Cindy and visits from his four grown children. He enjoys community activities including membership on the Redmond School District Board. Being a partner in the achievement and maintenance of the good health of his patients remains his vocation in life.

Sheryl Norris MD

Dr. Sheryl Norris graduated from Crater High School in Central Point Oregon and married her high school sweet-heart Clyde in 1971. Dr. Norris and Clyde have two sons and three grandaughters. She received her bachelors degree in chemistry from Southern Oregon University and her medical degree from OHSU. Dr. Norris graduated from residency at Kaiser in Fontana, CA and practiced in Portland prior to moving to Redmond in 1999. She loves the practice of Family Medicine with Obstetrics and enjoys flower gardening, camping, ATV riding, Harley riding, travel and spending time making good memories with her family. Dr. Norris believes that to remain healthy we must practice moderation in all things. Have a balance of work and play and always make time for family and friends.

Margaret Philp MD

Having grown up all across the country from California to New York to Missouri, Dr. Peggy Philp went to college at UC Berkeley. It was there she met and married her husband, fellow pediatrician Neil Ernst. They went to medical school together at UC Davis and did their pediatric training both in Fresno, CA and in Salt Lake City. After residency, doctors Philp and Ernst worked for over 20 years teaching pediatrics to residents in training in Merced, CA, developed a county pediatric clinic in Merced and had their own private practice. Dr. Philp was Health Officer for the county of Merced for 10 years. They moved to Redmond in 2002 to join their good friend Dan Murphy at Cascade Medical Clinic. Besides practicing medicine, Dr. Philp kept busy raising two sons and enjoys reading, running, tennis, biking, baking and knitting.

Mark A. Valenti MD

Dr. Valenti is committed to providing optimal care to his patients. His dedication is demonstrated by his recognition as the 2007 Oregon Family Doctor of the Year. He also volunteers at City Care Clinic in Redmond.
Dr. Valenti joins the majority of CMC physicians who ride their bikes to work. He enjoys working in his garden and spending time with his family that includes his wife and three sons.

Nathan Thompson, MD

Dr. Thompson grew up between Central Africa and Spokane, Washington. He recieved his undergraduate degree from Carroll College in Helena, Montana and then attended the University of Washington School of Medicine. He obtained his residency training at Valley Family Medicine in Renton, Washington. He became a family physician to have the chance to work with people through all stages of life and to help fill the gap of access to good primary care. He also enjoys taking care of pregnant families, and obstetrics is a large part of his practice. He believes the most important part of care is listening to the patient's story.
He is married and has a 3 year old son and a daughter "on the way." He enjoys his family, sports, reading and he and his wife love to garden.
